Structural Features

Structural features included 8m high full height tilt panel walls comprising a 2m parapet. The design also dealt with retaining of up to 3m against the building structure, with 200mm tilt panel walls being used in the bagged goods canopy.

The site had extensive lime stabilization works undertaken to reduce the site reactivity prior to construction commencing. Within the structural design, we worked closely with the geotechnical engineers to provide several risk mitigation measures to further reduce the potential risk of a highly reactive site.

These included rat walls, incorporation of concrete aprons around the building perimeter, and deep strip footings to prevent any moisture ingress under the building pad.
