This customised cold store and ambient distribution centre for DHL consisted of a 4,800sqm warehouse including 2,000sqm of cold rooms & freezers, 40m clear span super awning, 180sqm two storey operations office and a 900sqm single storey main office. The floor structure consisted of jointless fibre and combination fibre and mesh reinforcement slab on ground. The slabs were supported on a ground improved load transfer platform which was then supported by a series of controlled modulus columns (rigid inclusions). The roof structure was designed to support a 2,800sqm solar array, 150mm PIR ceiling to the cold store warehouse zone along with the associated refrigeration units and also FM global purlin design requirements.
