This temperature-controlled facility consisted of a 2,500sqm freezer at minus 21 degrees, 800sqm chiller at minus 2 degrees and 1,250sqm staging zone at 2 degrees Celsius. The structure included a 3 span portal frame with central transfer beams, 12m cantilevered awning off the gable end wall and perimeter RHS heads supporting the PIR wall cladding. The fibre reinforced and conventionally reinforced slabs on ground were supported on a ground improved load transfer platform which was then supported by a series of rigid ground improvement inclusions.
